How to export Otter.ai transcripts to CSV

Otter will give you a transcript — one at a time, as a TXT. If you want all your meetings in one spreadsheet, you have three options in 2026. Here is what each one actually costs.

The three options at a glance

MethodOutputHow many at onceCost
A. Official single exportTXT1Free
B. Official batch (ZIP)Folder of TXT/DOCXMany — but Business tier only≈ $30/user/mo
C. Browser extensionOne CSV or XLSXWhole list$29 once

Method A — the free way (one meeting at a time)

  1. Open the conversation in Otter.
  2. Click the three-dot menu → Export.
  3. Choose TXT (DOCX/PDF/SRT need a paid plan).

Fine for a single meeting. For thirty, you will be clicking the same three buttons for half an hour.

Method B — Otter's batch export

  1. Go to My Conversations, tick the meetings you want.
  2. Click the export icon; Otter emails you a link to a ZIP.
  3. Unzip, then merge the files yourself.

Two limits worth knowing: the batch export is only on Business/Enterprise, and even there “select all” only ticks the conversations already loaded on the page. You still end up with a folder of TXT files, not a spreadsheet.

Method C — one CSV, no tier upgrade

  1. Install the extension and open your Otter conversation list.
  2. Press Start collecting this list. It scrolls the list and reads each meeting.
  3. Tick Include full transcript only if you need the text — it makes the file large.
  4. Export CSV or XLSX. Columns: Title, Date, Duration, Participants, Summary, Action Items, (Full Transcript).

Free version exports the first 10 meetings, which is enough to check the columns are what you expect.

Try it on your own Otter list

Free for 10 meetings. $29 once for the whole list — about four days of an Otter Business subscription.

FAQ

Does this break Otter's terms?

It reads the page you are already logged into, for your own account. It does not share data, does not touch other people's meetings, and never sends anything to a server.

Will it keep the speaker names?

Yes, when they appear in the transcript panel. The extension copies what Otter renders.

What if the page layout changes?

You will see a message instead of an empty file — the selectors are in one file and get updated when Otter ships a redesign.
